Our Story
Insight Building Inspections was started by Nick and Aleisha Brownlee in 2017 with a simple goal: do things properly. No franchises, no fluff, just accurate, clear building reports delivered by qualified professionals who care about doing a good job.
Nick’s a licensed builder with over 20 years in the trade, and a qualified building surveyor. What started as a one-man operation has grown into a tight team of inspectors, admin support, and reporting systems all built around trust.
We’ve done over 5,000 inspections across Christchurch and the Southern Lakes region, and most of our work comes from referrals because when people use us once, they don’t need to shop around next time.

Sam’s got a sharp eye and a practical way of looking at homes. He’s a licensed builder with a background in residential construction, insurance assessment, and project management. Detail-focused and easy to work with, he’s all about giving clients real clarity.
Rose is your go-to for getting things booked, sorted, and stress-free. She’s worked in insurance and admin roles, and knows exactly what clients need behind the scenes. Friendly, responsive, and organised, she keeps the wheels turning without missing a beat.
Aleisha makes sure everything runs the way it should. She manages our systems, supports day-to-day operations, and helps keep Insight delivering clear, consistent service. From timely reports to smooth comms, she’s all about making the experience easy for every client.
